Theater

Theater background

I started my career as a classically trained actress and theater producer, director, and educator.

I spent much of my twenties as Artistic Director of Theater 150 in Ojai, California. I performed, directed, administrated, fundraised, educated, and cleaned toilets.

I helped to start a national playwrights conference and supported new works in our mainstage productions, before leaving Ojai to pursue acting and playwriting in New York City.

NOTE: In my old theater days, I went by my maiden name Elizabeth "Rosie" Rosengren.

My play about Chekhov's female character's was produced in downtown Manhattan to critical acclaim.

Below is an article about a play I directed in Ojai by a local playwright.

I also created an educational theater outreach program for Ojai area high schools, bringing them staged readings of classical plays by professional actors. Check it out below.
